Warhammer Online is an upcoming mmorpg from EA Mythic currently scheduled for launch in February 2008. Warhammer Online is based off of Games Workshop’s Warhammer fantasy table top role playing game. The table top game has been being played since 1984 and has created a huge following for this mmorpg.

In Warhammer Online you will have your choice of being a part of one of two opposing armies, the Armies of Order or the Armies of Destruction. The races comprising the Armies of Order are Dwarves, High Elves and the Humans of the Empire. Orcs, Goblins, Dark Elves and the Human worshipers of Chaos are the races in the Armies of Destruction.

The most innovative feature of Warhammer Online will be its Realm versus Realm (RvR) conflict system. Unlike most mmorpg player versus player (PVP) systems, Warhammer Online will combine PVP combat with player versus environment (PvE) combat. RvR will revolve around four types of battles. The first will be Skirmishes which will occur when players come across players from the other army in the persistent zones. The second type of RvR combat will be Battlefields. Battlefields will be objective based battles in the persistent zones. Scenarios will be the third type of RvR battle. These will be instanced zones where each army will have objective to achieve in order to claim victory. All of these RvR battles will precede the ultimate RvR Campaign where an army will invade a race’s territory and attack its capital city.

In addition to Warhammer Online’s RvR system, there will also be questing, exploration and great loot typical of all mmorpgs. War Hammer Online“>Subscribe to this website for continuous Warhammer Online information and discussion.

I will be recapping all of the official Warhammer Podcasts.  I think that it is great the EA Mythic is releasing these podcasts.  They are a great source of information and very entertaining.  Podcast #1 will be recapped tomorrow.  Come check it out.  Subscribe to my RSS feed.

Keen and Graev’s Gaming Blog has a great post on what to look forward to in Warhammer’s end game.  I could not agree more with Keen.  An mmorpg should not be focused on leveling.  I want excitement, adventure and exploration.  I think pvp adds to this unending gameplay.  Pvp is user generated content: the Web2.0 of the mmorpg.

What’s RSS?

RSS is a signal that comes from a favorite blog or site, telling your computer that it has been updated. If you have an RSS reader (and they’re free and easy, and I recommend Google Reader), whenever a blog is updated, it shows up in your reader and you can catch up on the news. If there’s nothing new, it doesn’t show up and you don’t have to waste time surfing around.

GETTING IT: All you have to do to subscribe to this blog is ONE of the following:

a. click on this icon on the home page of War Hammer Online.

EVERYWHERE: RSS is just about everywhere you want it to be. So add other RSS feeds on stuff you care about. And if you want a downloadable reader, just go to google and search on “RSS reader” and the name of your computer OS. You’ll find a bunch.

That’s it. You’re done.

Free, easy, permanent until you undo it and it’ll save you time.
